Lorenzo Alexander named Defensive MVP as AFC wins 2017 Pro Bowl

Lorenzo Alexander had nothing left to prove, but the Buffalo Bills linebacker managed to earn one more accolade Sunday night, earning Defensive MVP honors as the AFC won the 2017 Pro Bowl, 20-13.

The former undrafted free agent had played defensive tackle, offensive guard, tight end, and outside linebacker in his mission to stay in the NFL, lasting ten years in the league (mostly playing special teams). Signed to a veteran-minimum contract last offseason, Alexander accomplished the season of his life this year, collecting 12.5 sacks and a Pro Bowl selection. Turns out he had more magic left after all.

Alexander earned the MVP after leading the team in tackles and shutting down a potential game-tying two minute drill with his interception of a pass intended for Jimmy Graham. He lateraled the ball to Aqib Talib, who nearly returned the pass for six points.
